1-4e5bc85cddMatt Shargel, a popular science teacher at Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek, CA, has been teaching for fifteen years. For many years, Matt has sponsored and led the award winning school robotics team and the school archery and rock climbing programs. Since 2007, he has partnered with Yosemite National Park in pairing Seven Hills students with field biologists in scientific studies of endangered amphibians. Every fall, he directs the school’s weeklong 6th grade outdoor education program. He earned his master’s in science education from Montana State University.

At this summer’s BAE Club Veterinary Medicine Camp, Matt will be leading the technology portion and introducing campers to dissections, bone studies, reassembling animal skeletons, and performing sutures.

Matt is an eight-year veteran volunteer with the Contra Costa Sheriff Search and Rescue Team and lives in Concord with his wife, Kristine, and four sons.
